As a traditional Chinese New Year event in Hong Kong, the 2026 Year of the Horse Fireworks Display has long been highly anticipated. Coordinated by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, with the theme of "Success in Horse Racing Shines on Hong Kong River", it carefully creates a fireworks feast that combines viewing and symbolism. The performance will be held at 8:00 pm on February 18th (the second day of the Lunar New Year), lasting for 23 minutes. A total of 31888 fireworks will be set off, with a grand scale of 850 meters wide and 250 meters high, spreading a brilliant picture over Victoria Harbour. It will be distributed by three barges and six floating boats to ensure that audiences from different positions on both sides of Victoria Harbour can enjoy the excellent view.

The performance is divided into eight acts, with each act incorporating elements of galloping horses and auspicious symbols, hiding full blessings for the Year of the Horse. The opening act of "The Beginning of the Horse" begins with a 15 second high-density fireworks display, like a galloping horse, kicking off the performance and showcasing the power of the Horse Year's vigorous start; The second act "Celebrating the New Year Together" displays fireworks in the shape of an "8" and gold ingots, wishing the citizens abundant wealth and prosperous homes; The fourth act of "Harmonious Vision" depicts the "Horse of Peace" with starry fireworks, accompanied by "auspicious" fireworks, sending beautiful wishes to Hong Kong; The finale of the drama "Ma Zhi Gong Cheng" ends with a large brocade crown firework bomb and high-density chain fireworks, shaking the night sky and wishing the country prosperity and the citizens all the best.
