1、 Six years of honing a sword, finally breaking through the counter trend layout

The successful development of China's first GT3 racing car was not achieved overnight, but rather the result of Great Wall Motors' six-year strategic investment and long-term commitment. At a time when the industry is generally focused on rapid iteration of electrification, Great Wall Motors is going against the trend by deepening its research and development of track racing, abandoning short-term profit considerations, and continuously investing in the construction of aerodynamic acoustic wind tunnel laboratories and carbon fiber factories, fully tackling high-performance core technologies, laying a solid foundation of facilities and technology for the research and development of GT3 racing cars.

The GT3 racing car successfully developed this time is based on the GF high-performance architecture newly released by Great Wall Motors, adhering to the core logic of "track first, civilian later", strictly following the International Automobile Federation (FIA) GT3 technical specifications, targeting top-level track events worldwide, and completely changing the situation of Chinese brands' "zero breakthroughs" in the high-end track field. Song Dongxian, CEO of Great Wall Motors' supercar BG, said that this racing car carries the belief of giving Chinese racing cars a sense of belonging and confidence, breaking the dilemma that Chinese drivers can only prove themselves on other people's rules and stages.

2、 Three core technologies, creating a benchmark for domestic high-performance

The hardcore strength of this GT3 racing car comes from three independently developed core technological breakthroughs, each representing a new height in China's automotive industry. As the power system of the "soul" of the racing car, it is equipped with China's first self-developed track level 4.0T V8 engine. According to the GT3 racing rules, the power limit is 600 horsepower. It is matched with a self-developed track level ECU electronic control system and dry lubrication system, which balances explosive power and extreme working condition stability. At the same time, through lightweight design such as magnesium aluminum alloy shell, the whole machine can reduce weight by 30 kilograms.

In terms of body layout, the car adopts a mid engine design that is the first breakthrough of a Chinese brand. The center of gravity of the powertrain is close to the driver, greatly improving the handling response speed. The overall height of the vehicle is controlled below 1200mm, optimizing the aerodynamic performance. More noteworthy is that it is equipped with China's first all carbon fiber monocoque cockpit, which took five years to overcome technical barriers. It weighs less than 130 kilograms and is 40% lighter than aluminum alloy bodies. Its torsional stiffness exceeds 40000 N · m/degree, and its process accuracy reaches millimeter level, achieving a perfect balance between lightweight and safety.

3、 Breaking the technological blockade and reconstructing the development pattern of the industry

For a long time, the GT3 racing field has been monopolized by international brands, and core technologies have been strictly blocked. The domestic racing market has long relied on imported models, which not only have high costs (generally reaching millions to tens of millions of yuan per unit), but also are subject to technical maintenance by others. The successful development of China's first GT3 racing car has completely broken this situation, achieving fully independent research and development from core components to overall design, marking that China's automotive industry has the strength to enter the global high-performance track field.

As an important validation ground for automotive core technology, the successful development of the GT3 race car not only fills the gap in domestic ultra-high performance track technology, but also promotes the maturity of the domestic racing industry chain, from ECU tuning to lightweight component manufacturing, driving local related industries to break through technological bottlenecks.
